VW Fowlkes, AIA, received his architectural degree from Harvard's Graduate School of Design. His academic research focused on an alternative American suburbia. Before founding Fowlkes Studio, he worked at architecture firms, large and small, in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and DC. He has taught architecture at Catholic University, Boston Architectural College and Harvard's Career Discovery program and is LEED accredited.

Catherine Fowlkes received her architectural degree from MIT's School of Architecture and Planning where she researched potential for community empowerment through adaptive reuse. She has taught at Northeastern University and before joining Fowlkes Studio worked at Richard Williams Architects.

Martin is a third-generation Architect with a deeply rooted appreciation for aesthetics and the built environment. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from The Catholic University of America, he spent over a decade working on custom single-family homes throughout the mid-Atlantic before joining FS in 2016. A native of the area, he loves the scale and history of Washington, and strives to make spaces that are beautiful, practical and contextually appropriate.

Josh joined Fowlkes Studio as a Project Architect in August 2019. He is responsible for administering projects through all phases of design and construction. Trained as both an architect and urban designer, he draws on experience in both disciplines to inform the work of the office. A native of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., he earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from MIT.

Will received his architecture degree from Rice University School of Architecture. Born and raised in DC, he seeks to improve upon the environment he grew up in through small-scale interventions. Before joining Fowlkes Studio in Fall 2020, Will worked as a Paramedic Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park, and has experience working on architectural projects in Texas, Massachusetts, Colorado, Cairo and Paris. Will is a licensed Firefighter/Paramedic and volunteers his time in communities around the DC area.

Evie is a South Louisiana native whose roots spread from Seattle to Beijing. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University, where her thesis explored the architecture of dining through furniture design, storytelling, and community engagement. Prior to joining Fowlkes Studio, Evie worked for over 4 years designing and executing law office projects in London and Washington, DC.

Brett completed her architecture training in New York City, receiving both a Masters in Interior Design at Parsons the New School of Design and a Masters in City and Regional Planning at the Pratt Institute, before returning to her hometown of Washington, DC. Her background is community and context based, with a keen eye for sustainability, and she believes that great design is anchored in accessibility, emotion, interactivity, and fun. When not in the office, you can find Brett walking Florence (her long-haired mini dachshund), hunting for vinyl records, or enjoying the water in the Finger Lakes of Upstate New York.
